Once In a While

Once in a while, isn’t it good to press pause?
To walk by the old lanes where once your school was
To pet a furry friend on the road wagging his tail
To help out a stranger you just met on the train
To get papa’s wrinkled smile as you fix his phone
Or to lay on mother’s lap and forget worries unknown?

Once in a while , isn’t it good to lose track of time?
To enjoy the wind-rustled melody of a gifted windchime
To breathe in the fresh air of blooming sweet flowers
To drench yourself in sudden rains of evening hours
To laugh at your old pictures from a crumbled album set

Or to get lost in an old book you haven’t finished yet?

Once in a while, isn’t it good to live a dream?
To lay down in a meadow alongside a shallow stream
To curl up cozily in clothes that smell like home
To fall for a stranger on an adventurous roam
To watch the sky turn scarlet as the sun departs
Or to dance crazily with someone & listen to your hearts?

Once in a while, isn’t it good to let go?
To apologize to a long-lost friend from ages ago
To cry your heart out at Dumbledore’s fall
To give away an ex’s dusty woolen shawl
To forgive someone who had given you pain

Or to laugh loudly when Jerry fools Tom again?

Every once in a while, isn’t it good to just be you?
